The place 場所
Our school is located at the foot of Mt.Sakurajima, an active volcano.
The school is a quiet one, surrounded by abundant nature as it is situated near lava fields, trees and the sea.

桜島の麓に位置し、桜島の溶岩、緑、そして海...
豊かな自然に囲まれた学校です。

The Sightseeing Highlight 観光名所
There is a buried Shinto shrine gate within the school grounds. The gate was buried after a big eruption in 1914. Now only the top of the gate can be seen. Many visitors come to see it daily.
 学校の敷地内には、大正3年の桜島大噴火の際に埋没した鳥居があり、毎日多くの観光客が訪れます。

The school symbol  校章

校章.
The symbol models two loquat leaves and the official Japanese symbol for Junior High School. The loquat is a special produce of Sakurajima. The leaves of the loquat are known for their ability to withstand the elements - including ash from the volcano. The leaves, thus symbolizes the will of the students to overcome all difficulities.
 桜島の特産物である、ビワの葉をかたどっています。ビワの葉は、降灰にも強いことから、どんな困難にも負けない生徒に、という願いが込められています。
