| Our school is located at the foot of Mt.Sakurajima,
an active volcano. The school is a quiet one, surrounded by abundant nature as it is situated near lava fields, trees and the sea. |

| The Sightseeing Highlight 観光名所 | ||
| There is a buried Shinto shrine gate within
the school grounds. The gate was buried after
a big eruption in 1914. Now only the top
of the gate can be seen. Many visitors come
to see it daily. |

| 学校の敷地内には、大正3年の桜島大噴火の際に埋没した鳥居があり、毎日多くの観光客が訪れます。 |

| The symbol models two loquat leaves and the
official Japanese symbol for Junior
High
School. The loquat is a special produce
of
Sakurajima. The leaves of the loquat
are
known for their ability to withstand
the
elements - including ash from the volcano.
The leaves, thus symbolizes the will
of the
students to overcome all difficulities. |
